This is a very special article on my blog for all my American friends who can’t read French (and to my French friends who do read English as well and who want to see how good my English is - please don’t judge me - and if I have the same sense of humour in English).
First, I hope you’re all doing really well, wherever you are. I especially wish everybody’s OK in PA, how bad the weather is over there!! I’ve seen some photos, it looks really freaking bad! If you’re looking for a warm (even hot!), dry (some days), fun (of course!) beautiful shelter, I think you should come and visit me in Paris – just saying!
Well I just wanted to thank you all for making my life in the US so amazing. It was such a great experience for me, professionally of course because my internship was awesome, but you made it so much fun and crazy. You’re all very good people, fun, nice, some of you are literally crazy, some others are very old (take it!), but I love you all and you’re all very special to me (are you crying yet?). You really made me do some crazy things (really) and even though I had high expectations before I came, you took it to the next (maybe last) level and it went far beyond anything I could imagine.
I could sum up this 6-month internship with a bunch of David Guetta songs, it would be something between:
- a lot of “the world is mine”,
- so many “sexy chicks”,
- a little bit of “little bad girl” :D
- 100% “the club can’t handle me”
- tons of wonderful “memories”
- and of course “love(s) don’t let me go” and “missing you” (oooooh, that’s so cute – yes I am cheesy, you didn’t know that?)
And since I love listing things (I do!), here’s a list of things I already miss so much that I can’t wait to come back:
- American hip-hop and music in general (you wanted to know what French music sounds like? Look at this up -> Christophe Mae : on s’attache… I know, it’s hard…)
- My house in PA (my studio looks so damn small compared to it)
- White queso (save an Emma, send me a #10 can… Please, I’ll pay you back I promise!)
- The American smile and mentality (how can French people be cranky every single day?)
- New York City, of course
- Country music
- Jersey Shore (because it makes me feel good about myself)
- The outlets
- The amish people
- The redneck people
- American slang (I know I said I didn’t want to get to swear in English but I couldn’t help… you friends are such a bad influence - bitches)
- The American movies – “crazy stupid love” is being released this week… come on, I saw it a thousand weeks ago!
- Driving in Cali, beautiful state
- Driving to Minneapolis while I’m listening to the radio very very loud (and being pulled over by the cops without getting a ticket)
- American athletic guys
- Calling these guys “douchebags” – I’ll try to export this expression to France, because it’s so full of meaning
- Champagne Showers!! (shake that bottle and make it *POP*)
- American idioms and speaking English in general
- Shot-o’clock alerts
- And probably a hundred thousand other things I can’t think of right now…
There’s a billion things I still want to do there (no, I don’t exaggerate, I never exaggerate). Don’t worry I won’t list them this time, I’ll just come back to do them instead!
On the other hand, I’m back to France, where you can drink (and apparently smoke weeds, I didn’t know that) in the subway and go to clubs at the age of 16 and pee in public places (yes, my way back home yesterday night was fascinating) and eat stinky, moldy cheeses (oh I missed that) with a glass of red wine.
I spent three short but intense days in Lyon with my family, I saw my two adorable nephews.

Then I moved back to Paris because my first day back to school was this past Monday. I know it sounds crazy but I’m sure I would get bored if I didn’t have to run all the time! Now that I’m back on tracks, settled down in my tiny little studio, I could take a walk in Paris and take a few photos. It’s a bit hard to go back to my Parisian student life after such an amazing experience, but I’m doing my best to reconnect with my old life (which was pretty awesome already).
For those who don’t really know what I’m doing (and why the hell did I have to go back to this country where they eat snails and frogs), I’m back to school (engineering school) in Paris for 6 months. I have to do another internship next semester before I graduate and I’m trying to go back to the US, in the area of Philly or maybe Chicago according to the opportunities I’ll have. And if I can’t find an internship, I’ll take classes in bakery and pastry and I’ll open a French bakery/pastry/café in Philly or New York. By the way I’ll have to run a panel test and I’ll need some volunteers to taste my French pastries, anyone? :D
Well this is it for now, maybe I’ll try to give you some news through my blog every once in a while if you’d like, but you have to send me news as well! Please don’t hesitate to tell me what’s going on in your lives, even if it’s only to say “hey, we were at the village yesterday and they played “champagne showers”, we had a blast!” because I want to be informed. Until I come back, I’ll try to train my English with American series and I definitely have to purchase the Chapelle’s show DVD to keep up, otherwise I’ll be lost by the time I come back!

Please don’t forget the short/silly/dancing/French/rub-it-on-your-titties/not-gay-in-a-threeway/test-driving/short(I know I wrote it twice)/take-it girl too soon, we never know, I may come back someday, and I’ll be crazier than ever (and you’re gonna like it)! And if you ever wonder where you could go for your next vacation, come and visit me in Paris, I’ll be more than happy to show you around, it’s such a beautiful city! And I’ll take care of the food!
Take care, love you guys!
